Meet Janet
Joined Alex FM: 2018 (as Treasurer)
Janet Cameron is one of Alex FM’s most dedicated team members — a presenter, station treasurer, and active contributor to community life. She began her journey with Alex FM behind the scenes in 2018, taking on the vital role of Treasurer. But her passion for radio grew quickly, and by 2021 she made the leap from finance to front-of-mic, hosting her first live Breakfast show.
Her love of music spans all eras and genres, from vintage classics to contemporary favourites and she enjoys creating playlists that reflect her mood, the time of day, and her listeners’ tastes. With a background in finance, administration, and computing, Janet brings both structure and creativity to the station.
Janet is also passionate about storytelling through conversation, and regularly interviews interesting local people on her shows. When she’s not on the airwaves, she volunteers as a registrar for the Inland Rivers National Marathon Register, helping record the journeys of those who travel the length of the mighty Murray River
