At Radio Goolwa 91.5 Alex FM, community is at the heart of everything we do. As a not-for-profit, volunteer-run community radio station, we’re proud to provide a voice for Goolwa and the surrounding areas including Middleton, Port Elliot, Hindmarsh Island, and beyond.
Whether it’s on air, online, or out in the streets, we’re constantly finding ways to connect, support, and celebrate the local community.

Our popular Community Round Up segment keeps listeners up to date with what’s happening around the Fleurieu Peninsula. This weekly recorded segment is broadcast daily at:

❤️ Ghost Walk Tour – A Spooky Community Favourite
Each year, we host the Alex FM Ghost Walk Tour—a unique guided experience around Goolwa’s historic streets. Discover the stories of the area’s oldest buildings, along with tales of orbs, spirits, and ghostly sightings that add a spooky twist to local history. It’s one of our most anticipated community events and a wonderful way to explore the heritage of Goolwa.
❤️ Wharf Wine Bar Quiz Nights – A Fun Fundraiser
We are incredibly grateful to be hosted by the Wharf Wine Bar throughout the year as their Community Organisation of the Month. During this time, Alex FM receives the proceeds from one of their fantastic Quiz Nights.
These evenings are always packed with fun, friendly competition, and community spirit. The Wharf Wine Bar supports a different local group each month, and we’re proud to be part of this amazing initiative.
❤️ Bunnings Sausage Sizzles – Snags for a Cause
You’ll find our team sizzling sausages and serving smiles at Bunnings Victor Harbor several times a year. Come down, grab a sausage in bread with your favourite sauce and onions, and help keep us on the airwaves. Every dollar raised helps fund our equipment, maintenance, and daily operations at the station.
❤️ Live at the Port Elliot Show
We’re proud to support the iconic Port Elliot Show every October with a live outside broadcast. This event gives our presenters a chance to mingle with the crowd, showcase the show’s highlights, and keep listeners in the loop on all the fun.
Our outside broadcasts bring community radio straight to the heart of local events.
