Joined Alex FM: 2023
Bob has been a member of the Alex FM team since early 2023 and has presented over 300 shows. He brings with him a deep musical knowledge and a lifelong passion for blues, rock, soul, and everything in between. After moving to the Goolwa area in early 2020, Bob discovered the station through one of Alex FM’s legendary Ghost Walk Tours in early 2023. Inspired by the experience and eager to contribute, he offered up his IT expertise — and soon after, found himself behind the mic.
Though new to on-air presenting, Bob has long toyed with the idea, even considering a campaign at Coast FM over a decade ago. Now retired from a 47-year career in IT, he has embraced community radio as a space to explore and share his favourite tunes — with the freedom to craft his own playlists and connect directly with local listeners.
Bob describes himself as a long-time Pink Floyd fan, with “Comfortably Numb” ranking among his top songs of all time — tied with “Sugar Man” by Rodriguez and “Sitting” by Cat Stevens. His relaxed, authentic style and eclectic taste resonate with those who appreciate quality music with depth and soul.
