Susi brings a wealth of experience and a truly global musical perspective to Alex FM, having spent the past 20 years presenting on Melbourne community station PBS FM. Her long-standing passion for community radio is matched by a deep curiosity for music that sits outside the mainstream — the kind of music that tells stories, evokes place, and connects people through shared human experiences.
Having lived in Canada while training as an announcer, Susi developed a strong affinity for Celtic and Canadian music, alongside a love for folk traditions from across Europe. Her musical tastes also span Latin and African sounds, with Australian music always finding a place too, often acoustic, but never confined to one style.
Since relocating to Goolwa, Susi’s daily beach walks have naturally influenced her musical selections. Music inspired by nature, the sea, and the sky now features strongly in her programming, reflecting both her surroundings and her thoughtful approach to curation. Susi is especially drawn to songs with unusual, expressive lyrics that explore emotions and experiences we all recognise.
