Meet Sasha

Joined Alex FM: 2024

Sasha Davies brings decades of music industry experience — and a healthy dose of cheek — to Alex FM. Their radio journey started early, with a love for music kicking off at age 10 and work experience at SA-FM during its early years (alongside legendary presenter John Vincent). From there, they hit the airwaves at 5THE-FM in Millicent, then Bay FM in Byron Bay, and now calls Alex FM home.

Sasha describes their entry into Alex FM simply: “I had something to offer.” And that they certainly do. With a professional musician’s ear and an irreverent sense of humour, they curate shows that are bold, eclectic, and deeply connected to Australia’s thriving music scene — all while wrangling life as a devoted parent.

When it comes to musical taste, Sasha’s influences are as broad as they are deep. Their all-time favourite band is the iconic Cold Chisel, while Louis Jordan, the jump blues legend, holds a special place as their top solo artist. As for favourite songs? It doesn’t get more raw or rebellious than Frenzal Rhomb’s “You Can’t Move Into My House” — a track that perfectly matches Sasha’s fiercely independent style.

They’re not one for genre snobbery (though they might have opinions), and while their musical library may have cost a fortune, community radio gives the perfect excuse to put it to good use.
